Make a contribution today
The Bulkley Valley Health Care & Hospital Foundation is deeply grateful for the generosity of individuals, families, and businesses who support our work. Contributions come in many forms, and each one helps strengthen local health care in meaningful ways.
Cash Gifts
A one-time cash or credit card donation qualifies for a charitable tax receipt.
Gifts of Investments
To encourage charitable giving, the federal government eliminated capital gains tax on publicly traded securities donated directly to a registered charity. For example, if you purchased an investment for $10,000 and it is now worth $25,000, you may donate the full value and receive a $25,000 charitable receipt—without paying capital gains tax.
Gifts of Property
Gifts of real estate can make a transformational impact. A donated residence from Robert E. Hess and Armen Wilke played a pivotal role in the success of our Foundation and remains a meaningful example of this type of legacy giving.
Gifts in Kind
Products or services that can be auctioned, sold, or used as prizes provide valuable support. Depending on the nature of the donation, these gifts may qualify for a charitable receipt or can be recognized as sponsorship. Please contact the Executive Director for guidance.
Sponsorship
Sponsorships are not eligible for a charitable tax receipt but may be considered a business advertising expense. Corporate sponsorship is essential to the success of many of our fundraising activities, particularly our signature Annual Fundraising Gala.
Charitable Donation Tax Credits
The government of Canada realizes that charities need help, so they provide an incentive for doing so in the form of a tax credit. Refer to the Government of Canada’s website or consult your accountant professional for more information.
